(Elephant In The Room)

Discovering a new artist today and deciding to step out of my usual ‘Hip-Hop’ routing and returning back to the Metal side of things with artist BLAKSWAN someone I’ve never heard of before but as I saw more and more of his clips on social media it left me intrigued, so let’s see where this EP takes us!

So, across this EP we have 6 songs with a total of 20 minutes. Now right off the you can tell that most of this record is ‘politically’ charged and since I haven’t had time to talk to the man in question yet I’m going to assume it’s anti trump since he’s new president and all as well as the current government landscape.

Although I support Trump I always appreciate people who can speak out against what they disapprove of and use their art in whatever style it is to make their points and this is done in spades on this one, so for that and since I’m pro freedom of speech gotta respect the energy!

Sonically this one feels like something ‘Ghostmane’ would make or at least in the same lane, very dark and gloomy, industrial vibe with some hip hop/metal elements and even some Korn influence with what sounded like Jonathan Davis’s trademark devilish scat singing in one of the songs.

Overall, I think this would be an enjoyable album for people politically fueled or otherwise. It’s groovy, catchy and has a strong message attached. Great performance by BLAKSWAN himself and will be interested to see what he does next!
