(ESCAMA)

Now, this was an anticipated record. CRIMEAPPLE was my runner-up for ‘Most consistent artist of 2024’, and so he was on my radar to see how his career would go in the new year, and this is the first instalment, and so let’s talk about it!

This time around, we have an 8-track project with 21 minutes of content. Featuring Primo Profit and produced by Michaelangelo.

When discussing the production, Michaelangelo has been one of those underground names that have been making waves as of late and becoming one of the most sought-after names to work with. Across this project, he brings this level of hard-hitting, neck-snapping Boom Bap flavours that are guaranteed to leave you sweating by the end of the project!

This album sounds deadly, sounds like the ghetto equivalent of the Wild West with its eerie instrumentation and strings and chords. These kinds of raw and calculated beats fit perfectly with the vibe of both Primo and Crime.

The duo of Primo and Crime is as deadly as a duo can be. They both bounce off each other with crisp and bloodthirsty lyrical artistry that can rival anyone in the game right now. This sounds less like two artists in the studio and more like a pair of hustlers sharing a corner and bouncing off killer rhymes during their spare time.

Across the project, there is one feature with ‘RLX’, who absolutely nails his part on the track ‘Rio Pance’, but otherwise, it’s just the main two taking control of the record.

The Verdict? A short and deadly installation to 2025. This serves as a reminder that Crime can take the top spot whenever he wants and is sending off warning shots to not forget it, combined with Primo Profit by his side, and it makes for an untouchable threat.
