(ALMIGHTY II)

It’s been a minute since my main man Brutus and I had a video interview with Waterr himself, and since then I’ve been excited to see his progress and paired with one of the best producers out there, I have no doubt this one will be a banger!

So, this is the latest collaboration album between Waterr and producer Machacha, who in his own right has released two of the best albums of the year, and he’s back for the 3 peat!

12 tracks with 34 minutes. With only Reefa Rei as a feature, this is a project where Waterr is the front and centre focus, and with his ability, that is nothing to worry about for him!

The production on this one sounds theatrical and in a lot of moments cultural/foreign with various world’s instruments (or at least that’s how they sound to me), such as Spanish guitar and intro speech in the foreign language.

The theatrical moments come from tracks like ‘Compass’ with that 1940’s Jazz sound loop which reminds me of Black and White movies of the golden era of cinema.

As per usual, Machacha comes with masterful production, crisp beats, and the focus of a true professional. I could never get sick of listening to a project by him; he hasn’t missed yet and probably won’t!

What can I say about Waterr? The man who has spent the last half decade and more building his reputation, skill, and talent into a formidable player in the underground, and with this new record, he’s showcasing just how much he has grown and improved, and he’s a man who lived the phrase (in the words of the genius Illogic) ‘A picture worth a thousand words, so I’ll paint the perfect picture.’

His verses aren’t just merely bars but stories and fables that can make your imagination go wild with his vivid imagery and detailed poetry.

Overall, this is a fantastic album to say the least. Not a skippable track to be found, and the chemistry between the two is as brilliant as ever!
