Nothing better than a nice relaxing single to listen to while you’re coming home after a long shift or a mellow day off walk with your dog on a beautiful day, and that’s how this song feels to me by this new artist I just discovered! So let’s talk about it!
So this is a new single by rapper ‘MALCOLMSEF’, and this one is produced by ‘SKIP THE KID’, both names I’m unfamiliar with until now, but based on this single, they both go hard!
Starting with the production, we have these horn sound loops that are placed over this dreamy, lo-fi slow feeling beat that sounds like the kind of beat you’d hear when you get high and everything starts to go real slow. But if you’re sober as stated above, it just sounds like a relaxing fever dream beat that can relive stress and help increase your mood throughout the day and the kind of beat you could listen to on repeat and never get sick of! The atmosphere this gives off is incredible!
Now onto MALCOLMSEF, who I have to say delivers probably the best opening line ever:
‘Mother Nature, Mother Father, Mother Fucker’ if that’s not a great opening line, then what is? As the song progresses, we get a solid performance by him!
Whether that’s his smooth and methodical flow and delivery or his introspective and thoughtful wordplay and lyricism or just his stand-out deep rugged tone that has a splash of emotion that can be heard within the end of his pronunciation of his sentences or bars.
He has a unique voice and excellent sense of timing and rhythm across the beat in question, which helps ensure the track as a whole is dope all the way around!
For a single by both involved I’ve never heard of before, I was pleasantly surprised! Great MC, Great producer, and a Great track in general! Fantastic work by all involved!
