I’ve noticed something. Whenever this MC is active, shit takes a glorious and spiritual turn for the record! We heard him last alongside Recognize Ali on ‘The Past, The Present And The Future’ and now he’s back taking care of business solo and creating another absolute BANGER! Let’s talk about it!
This is the brand new album by MC veteran Tragedy Khadafi and Producer DJ Supa Dave, and together they release a fresh 13 tracks with 31 minutes of content and the likes of
-J.SOS
-Ali Vegas
-Blaq Poet to help elevate the record, which is already absolutely stunning in its execution! Let me explain.
When talking about the production on this album, it’s defined by big, grand, and atmospheric sounds and instrumentals that speak substance further than music! But a spiritual, emotional, and definite message that can be felt by the listeners!
For example, the track ‘Nelson Mandela’ which features these long, eloquent keys with hypnotic drums and the occasional deep keyboard keys that give this track that extra hint of depth!
It’s this type of methodical and surreal sonic structure that makes every word accompanied feel 100x heavier!
Or let’s look at the track ‘Jesus H Christ’. On this song, we have Supa execute a more lively and expressive version with funky guitar strings, drum patterns, and synth-style notes delivered in the background with some finely tuned cuts and scratches to give it that extra touch of flavour!
When DJ Supa Dave gets behind the beat, he ain’t just making music; he’s a super chemist inventing life-changing experiences that the fans will keep with them forever! Absolutely unreal work!
Now, onto Tragedy. In a similar context to Supa, he also is one of those MC’s (as mentioned in the intro) who makes every breath he takes in the studio one of deeper impact, importance, and conviction. He ain’t the type of rapper to just say things for the sake of it, but one to think about what he’s going to say and preach it to the world.
Let’s use the track ‘Nelson Mandela’ for example. Not only was the beat intense, but so were the lyrics! As he discusses the fucked-up situations of so many men who met their end in suspicious and dangerous circumstances, that was no doubt done by the higher-ups to swerve the uprising to a different reaction.
But that track isn’t the exception; across every track, he’s here spreading a specific message depending on the track and is bent on making sure he drills into the listeners the importance of the words he’s saying and the sermons he’s delivering.
He has one of the most powerful voices and pen game in the industry (being a big reason as to why his duo with Ali was so successful) because of his ability, unwavering energy, and commitment to his opinions and convictions.
It’s a no-brainer that his flow is on point; fantastic rhythm and lyricism are all above the rest as he uses the 31 minutes in nothing short of a phenomenal performance to enhance the minds and souls of the fans.
From the production, to the features, to the man himself, this is everything you could want from a hip-hop record. It’s deep, compelling, banging, and raw all in one! Make sure you go check this one out because you won’t be the same person you were coming into it!
