Holy shit, we’ve got another massive album by the legendary producer collective ‘Lupara’. I’m telling you now, mainstream or otherwise, there ain’t a stronger click of beat makers on planet Earth. These guys are the pinnacle of forward thinking and bone-crushing sounds that have spent close to the last decade pushing the culture to the critically acclaimed status it’s in now, and you can thank most (if not all) the men presenting music to you today on this project. That’s the facts.
A brand new collaboration project between MC Sayzee and the collection ‘Lupara’, which consists of:
-Hobgoblin
-SB11
-MIGHTYHEALTHY
-Machacha
-Flu
-Timepiece
-Bohemia Lynch
And on the mic we have:
-Daniel Son
-Jamal Gasol
-Saipher Soze
Honestly, it’s always an unfair comparison to have these names on the beats compared to anyone else, and today is no different. When you have legends such as these, every instrumental is bound to be ridiculous!
Right off the bat with Hobgoblin’s ‘Wash Your Hands’, with that sample that reminds me of the Bone Weso track ‘RUDEBOY’, and I loved his re interpretation of that sample! It was the perfect way to open the album!
You’ve got tracks like ‘Low Tolerance’ where SB11 takes us on a melodic, chipmunk vocal sensational journey that reminds me of the early 2000s Kanye/Twista days. It put my whole body to rest and gave me legit goosebumps!
There’s even tracks like ‘Gucci In The Kitchen’ where my main Aussie man takes centre stage with a theatrical take on that gritty boom bap template!
You’ve got those methodical drums paired with those haunting strings and light opera vocal snippets in the background! He’s here to make a final statement that he’s not one to fuck with!
Those, plus the rest of the 11 tracks, are packed with phenomenal technical ability, originality, and flavour that makes each track stand out and each producer showing why they are the titans of the industry now and for the past few years!
Sayzee. My man. This guy, in his handful of releases so far, has also been one to push the boundaries and make some of the best albums to date this year. From his collaboration album with KNG Bondalero to his wrestling fever dream record in ‘SummerSlam’, he’s proven to be a man with infinite ideas and unlimited potential.
To choose to pair alongside these beat killers, he’s once again setting himself up for a classic that no one can deny! Knowing the production he’s going to have to put over, he puts his best game forward and absolutely kills it here!
Once again, he showcases his natural charisma and energy on these tracks. No break in his flow, his verses tight and his wordplay deadly and sharp!
He’s the kind of rapper that will decide which form to take depending on the tone of the track and theme!
If he needs to be slow and methodical, that’s light work for him. If the producer decides the beat needs a more fast-paced and hyped feel, then he says ‘no problem’ and follows suit!
If one of them decides this album needs one of the dirtiest and muddy boom bap instrumentals, he’s on demon time with no explanation necessary!
That’s the main threat with this man. He has no weak spots or ceiling to hit. There’s not a single form or movement in hip hop he either hasn’t already done or couldn’t nail if he tried! Literally every release I’ve covered of his has sounded different!
Not to mention the MC killers he has with him, that trio will eat you alive if you ain’t ready, and if anything, Say is over-prepared! He meets anyone eye to eye and drops a verse so dope they have no choice but to respect him!
As expected, this was fucking phenomenal! (AJ) hit a styles clash on the industry, and for those haters standing from afar still talking shit, Lupara is waiting in the corner ready to hit that phenomenal elbow for the permanent knock-out!
