Man, what a wild name for a track. But that aside, seeing a new song with these two on the same project has me more excited than anything! Arguably two of the best going right now, so I had nothing but high hopes. As expected, I was 100% correct!
This is the latest single by MC Juggernaut, Bub Styles, and Producer Wino Willy, with two minutes and 30 seconds of pure aggression that only these two could create!
Starting with the production first, we have Wino creating this distinctive fusion between eerie/horror-based chords and gritty boom bap! You’ve got those creepy, fast-paced piano keys that remind me of a ‘Friday the 13th’ movie soundtrack. Ontop of all that, you have those heavy drum patterns and the occasional subtle chord progression that sits in the background and adds that little extra bit of ‘skin-crawling’ energy to an already scary vibe instrumental!
I also found it interesting how in the last 50 seconds or so, we just have a passage of the beat slowly fading out and Bub just talking amongst himself. It’s a fascinating way to end such an intense track and speaks to Wino’s track record of creative and artistic ways to make a track pop!
Speaking now of Bub, it’s been a hot minute since I last covered his music, and somehow he sounds even more intense than I’ve ever heard him! He brings with him the trademark aggressive nature that he’s always had but amplified tenfold and drowned in testosterone to create the most powerful and monstrous bars yet!
If this instrumental is horror-inspired, then he’s Jason always behind you ready to kill, he’s Freddy haunting you even when you sleep, or Mick Taylor causing terror in the deep outdoors waiting to strike.
There’s no escaping the madness and chaos that is Bubs! Whether it’s album form or just singles, he has the capacity of a nuke to blow up the track and anyone else on it taking centre stage always. It’s fucking rare (to say the least) to find an artist that even has a chance of standing toe to toe with him on a song, and even rarer for one to keep up with him!
He’s strong, powerful, relentless, and hungry for bodies in this one, flexing his superior pen game and dominating flow and rhythm with a blast radius to topple cities! Let alone other MC’s!
This is a track you can’t afford to skip. Whether that be for your respect of the culture or your life. You decide!
