This is the brand-new EP by MC Gustavo Louis and Producer Jaybe Ill with five new tracks, 18 minutes in length, andFlypaper Blake as the sole feature! And I gotta say, when you mix horror elements to an already crazy rapper, you get quite the interesting project!
What I’m feeling on this EP is a sense of ‘letting loose’ and going as bat-shit as he wants for the sake of a ‘Halloween album’. I could sense that when I was sent the project with all caps DEVILS NIGHT!! That message told me a lot that this was going to be something crazy, and I was right.
From the opening track to the last, this thing is filled with a variety of manipulated jazz sounds, spooky sci-fi elements, and underground boom-bap, mixed together in a witches’ brew to create monstrous effects that are sure to leave a scare or two in the audience!
Gustavo himself hasn’t sounded more wild than he does today with explosive energy and haunting charisma. Enough aura to soak the whole world and then some! As well as his unique characteristics that let you know it’s him on the beat without you ever having to check it. His voice and style are 1 of 1, and he’s paved his own fast lane with his rhythm and rhymes, and it’s absolutely glorious to witness!
I feel his chemistry with Jaybe is fire! Both men coming together under one goal ‘To create the most havoc you possibly can under one Halloween album’, and they did just that!
Killer synchronicity as well as murderous chemistry like a dynamic duo looking for new prey to capture and kill. It really is a thing to witness, ESPECIALLY with someone like Flypaper on the case, bringing his already familiar energy with Gustavo back to the forefront and providing yet another dope verse for the EP!
Hallowed Be Thy Name, but Gustavo is HIM. Alongside Jaybe, you’ll need your own personal Ouija board to escape this one!
