This is the final rapid review release bundle for FLYG! With more on the way, but after taking my time with his previous drops, I knew I had to make up for it in quick succession, and this is the finale until we get that brand new album!
With a production partner, he has more than enough experience with what we are about to get into, which sure is to be one of his more killer singles of the month/year! Let’s get into it!
As mentioned above. This is the brand new single by MC FLYG and Producer Jazzy Lion Man. Together, they drop an almost three-minute track that has a special type of aura to it that feels a little bit different than the rest I’ve covered!
For starters, FLYG. This man, while back on his methodical shit, feels a bit more energetic, eccentric, and charismatic than what I’m used to from him! (Maybe it has to do with his spoken word touches on the end of the track), but throughout his whole extended verse, he has an aura of confidence about him that makes him stand out!
Can you guess his approach for the song? If you guessed lyrically superior one-liners, then you’d be correct! You can expect him going forward and checking any song of the year to hit that particular trademark, and he’s fucking solid at it!
The few key lines that stood out to me most were as follows:
-All dogs bite but I’ve definitely never been bit.
-Underground Hip Hop Blog, I’m on the latest print (he definitely is).
-Heavy breathing, of course, you’re bound to snore/put up the window, shut the door.
These are just a few key lines that stood out to me the most! If you’ve been following his career thus far, then you know what he’s about, and his vocabulary, verbal assaults, and rhythm all contribute to his evolving as a MC! YES YES
As far as Jazzy goes, this feels like one of his coldest productions yet. I hear him inheriting his inner early years WSG with his one, nothing but a cold and skeletal loop track with those long-winded synth chord keys, subtle drum beats, and that obviously overwhelming distorted vocal loop that takes over the whole track.
This is the kind of loop that invented that ‘boom bap’ sound, and Jazzy, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, he’s just greasing it up and giving it a new lease on life!
This is the kind of track you could play for hours (well, I could) and never get bored of. I love how there’s a minimal amount of layers, and yet it still has that grand, rich sound you’d expect from a million-dollar producer!
Another banger from this duo. One of the darker and coldest tracks from the pair, but one that’s bound to break your neck! Cowards who try to diss this track will get
MOTION SICKNESS!
