It’s always an exciting day whenever this man drops! He’s probably the only artist I’ve covered since starting this website that has gone through a name change! He’s like the Prince of this shit, ‘the MC formerly known as Moe’, but regardless of his name, he’s one of the hottest in the game right now, and after his last single, I couldn’t be more hyped for this one! So let’s talk!
This is the brand-new single by MC Maurice with production by Koba Dera, and this time around, they come packed and loaded with the umbrella soldiers in -Daniel Son and -Snotty, and this four-man team steamrolls this track unlike anyone else can!
If we start with the production. This is one of Koba’s coldest beats yet! This has such a methodical tone to it that’s equal parts raw, gritty, and powerful!
Across this beat, we can hear these haunting plucked keys that go off in this creepy slow loop that I fucked with heavily! Going along with that, there are also these eerie, almost whispering wind sounds that appear and disappear just as fast that I feel fuse with the keys.
We have some thick bass and subtle drums that help provide a crucial element to the overall atmosphere of the track!
This is truly the darkest I’ve ever heard this man go! And considering the names he has rapping on top of it, this choice makes complete sense!
Speaking of the men, we have a trio of the dopest out. Starting with Maurice as he sparks the song up with his fiery cadence that sounds like gravel in human form.
We hear him provide an absolute killer verse full of hypnotic rhythm and a pen game that’s like a dark poetry edition of street rap, deep, rich, and savage!
He also provides the chorus verses, which run through the whole song!
Next in line is Daniel-Son, who is one of the pillars of gritty street poetry. He’s had his vivid imagery down since day one. Every verse of his sounds like an audio version of a Sopranos episode! Extreme detail and concentration with his flow and pen game that makes him an elite MC! A man who, equipped with his stone-cold/deep tone, is always a standout in the feature category!
And what a way to end with the one and only Snotty. This man has been consistent for years now, and with age, he only seems to get better. Across this tape, we hear him at one of his most memorable and aggressive! His ruthlessness comes out in spades as he brings his trademark brash flow and rhythm to the table.
Very few people in the game have his level of swag and aura, and combine that with his impeccable street bars, lethal wordplay, and unrivalled conviction, and he’s the dream of any MC to have on their track (let alone to close it).
Another reason to be excited for the album! This single is even better than the first one, and I can tell just by these two singles alone that this upcoming album is going to be LEGENDARY!
