a new single alert! This time we have a handful of artists that I didn’t expect to be on the same cut together, but now that I’ve heard it, I can’t unhear it! This has the potential to be a future supergroup! But in the meantime, let’s cover this BANGING TRACK!
This is the brand-new effort by MC Kid Bizarre with none other than my main man Dev Rogers on the production and featuring Ray Brown and G Rayes on the mix! A truly fatal fourway in every sense of the word, and they rock it just as strong!
Let’s start with the MC work! All three men gave us a solid demonstration of what makes a solid verse. It’s something we take for granted nowadays, but on this one, what makes it so special is the fact there are three distinct parts that are different from one another! Three solid verses that have their own feel, sharpness, precision, verbal expression, and quality to them.
I hate when I hear a feature track and it’s just the same energy over and over again. May as well be a handful of clones and a producer.
But thankfully, that’s not the case here! It’s three genuinely talented MC’s coming together to create an atmosphere that’s solid, true to the culture, and ever so infectious to hear! Definitely shoutout to all three involved; they all killed it!
As far as the production goes, I don’t think you’ll ever find me say a bad word about this man’s work (not because I’m biased) but because he’s just that fucking good! Every single album I’ve heard him on, he’s absolutely killed it, and this time is no exception!
Across this track, we hear these angelic, long, and elevated piano keys that have this spacey/jazz vibe to them! These are combined with these subtle and minimalist drum patterns and this synth chord progression that stays in rotation in the background.
This track itself only has a few layers to it, and yet they don’t miss. It has this level of detail and depth that only a master like Dev can accomplish. The kind of beat that reminds me of Milo in his early career! It’s lo-fi inspired and absolutely hypnotic!
