To say I was excited for this drop would be an understatement. It’s no secret that I’ve been a fan of all the other drops by this remix producer as he has a strong history of quality drops, but here is where my interest is heavily piqued as he decided to cover one of my favourite artists in the underground, PERIOD! So let’s go!

This is the brand-new remix album by Producer Thelonious Coltrane, and this time he’s covering the 23 Incredible Industries Solider, THEHIDDENCHARACTER, AKA ??? And on this one, we have 14 tracks with the likes of

And I gotta say, man, the production on this one feels otherworldly in execution! From the opening track to the last, this one feels like an atmospheric exploration of grand sounds and thrilling sonic adventures that will take your mind into a whole new territory while listening to this!

Compared to his other drops, this one doesn’t just rely on the lavish jazz instrumentals but instead on more cinematic and dynamic beats that feel like you’re listening to a James Bond film (if James Bond was a street poet hanging on the street corner). 

It’s gritty, crisp, and overwhelming in all the best ways possible! I love its explosive nature; this is truly the most empowering I’ve heard Coltrane utilise so far! 

A few of my favourite beats on this one are -Marksman, this one gave me hella adrenaline! From those rhythmic drums combined with those high-pitch chord progressions and plucked strings that come together to create this fast-paced environment that is perfect for the flow type of ???

I also love the last 10 seconds of the track as it went into more orchestral fields!

The track -ROLEYOFFRAP has an infectious nature to it due to its classical feel! This one feels like a 1950’s bop turned boom bap! From those long and elongated synth chords combined with those plucked strings and filthy drums! Although minimal, this one scratches that gritty itch that makes ??? And the incredible features absolutely GO OFF ON!

Hell, that opening track -PTT with that abrasive vibe to it that has some of the most sickening bass I’ve ever heard that sounds like it’s keeping your ears hostage! That combined with those light sci-fi style keys in the background and those heavy drums, this whole track makes the perfect ground for FEED THE FAMILY and ??? To go off on! Absolutely killer intro track!

There should be no question on the ability of ??? Especially considering this is a remix tape. These are just verses we’ve heard before just re imagined and refreshed, so you already know this has the cream of the crop of his bars, which makes this album one of the premier rap albums on that fact alone.

On his bad day, he’s better than 90% of the cats out, when you cherry-pick his BEST WORK? It’s game over.

Each verse feels tailor-made to the beats (because they are), and that creates a special feeling of harmony that you wouldn’t normally

get from normal albums.

Every time I listen to ??? I’m re reminded of his one-of-a-kind flow, his unique penmanship, his special case of wordplay that wraps around the beat unlike any other MC. He raps where and when he wants while maintaining his strong, fluent consistency that makes it sound like he doesn’t breathe! 

He’s like a walking, talking tongue twister. He can rhyme words I didn’t even know were words. The more I think about it, he kind of reminds me of a more refined and modern version of Krayzie Bone! Similar complex rapping style that is individual to them!

Also, those features? Consider that a wrap too. These are men that are his family! Men we’ve seen collaborate with him too many times in the past to doubt them! Whether your talking 23 Incredible Estee & TheMellos or Jackpot Al Divino or FEED THE FAMILY Bori and Shaykh Hanif or Umbrella Collective with Pro Dillinger or even old school connects like STARKER & FASTLIFE each man has the perfect chemistry with ??? And each make for dope showing on this one!

If I had to choose a favourite feature across this whole project it would have to be either Bori’s intro verse or STARKER on -ROLEYSOFFRAP he just went OFF with his intense opening verse!
