(White On White Crime)

This is the type of track you don’t hear anymore. This formula was common in the 90s and 2000s, but these days it’s rare (if not non-existent), and the men who have brought this back had me quite surprised! Two of the dopest spitters with a truly powerful producer combining their efforts to create a single like no other! Let’s talk about it!

This is the latest -I Hate Mondays (week 8), which features the rappers -Sayzee & AYOO BIGZ with PHD Beats on the instrumental, and together they help create this massive 7 minutes and 46 of pure old-school lyricism that is striking from start to finish! Let’s talk about it.

For starters, the instrumental itself feels like a forever evolving beast of its own. With the core of the beats consisting of these haunting piano keys alongside a classic drum pattern, but from there, PHD adds a variety of different sounds and samples that make this feel like an infinitely changing beat.

From sharp strings to sound snippets, spoken word parts, cuts, and scratches that make this one of the most interesting beats I’ve heard all year due to its forever evolving nature!

But I feel the main attraction is the MC’s and it’s not a controversial statement to say I haven’t heard either of them better! These two men give the culture a masterclass on lyricism, penmanship, and wordplay.

They spend the almost 8-minute track going back and forth with each other, and they match each other’s energy to a tee!

Both men showcasing their unique charisma, skills, and techniques as well as unrivalled chemistry and verbal assaults that very few can match!

Each man brought THEIR ALL TO THIS TRACK! Trying to utilise the not-so-easy task of making an almost 8-minute track full of bars remain entertaining, engaging, and more importantly, write and perform that long of a track is hard, and these two pull it off as if it was effortless!

I loved to hear the chemistry between the two. I knew they were a problem as I’ve been covering them since last year, but to see how much they’ve evolved and grown since I last saw them is proof of my intuition that they are two of the front runners in the culture! Pair that with the incredible work of PHD Beats, and you have a single that is bound to turn heads!
