I can’t believe this is the first album I’ve reviewed for the main man Eric. He’s been one of my strongest supporters since I started this website shit, and now I finally get the chance to feature him on my platform! So with that in mind, let’s talk about this brand-new album!
This is the brand-new album between MC’s -EricTheRed13 & -Ki Bohiti, with production from the likes of
-VVStearss
-$ave Me
-Beats By Noisy
-D.I.E
-Verny
With the featured MC being -Sunshine Siva, and together with all these names, these two MC’s show us just how strong of a performance they can accomplish together. Talking about the rapping first, I gotta say I loved the chemistry between the two names as they remind me of those 90’s East Coast link-ups such as
-Mobb Deep
-Ghostface & Raekwon
They have that same gritty cadence paired with that harrowing substance that makes each of their verses feel like deadly spells cast upon the listener!
Each man goes back and forth trying to out-haunt and out-work the other. Both bringing their most cold-blooded bars to the forefront, trying to be the most savage, crisp, and precise that they can be! Their unity feels dangerous and yet magnificent at the same time! I loved to listen to the way they brought such grave feelings towards the instrumentals.
One man will set the stage, and the other will close the casket and kill the track.
Actually, if anything, they kind of remind me of -Heltah Skeltah! They have the same horrocore atmosphere to them with eerie details in their vocals combined with stellar vocabulary and mastery of penmanship that makes each verse between them feel like an Aleister Crowley journal entry! It’s absolutely wild and definitely lives up to the name of the album title!
Speaking of wild, if the verses are mesmerising, that only means the production is just as (if not more) powerful in their executions to lay the sonic foundation for these two to go off on!
See, to me it doesn’t feel like a collection of individual tracks as much as done as brooding and heavy living instrumental organism that has latched onto the vocals and created the perfect mix of terror and chaos for the duo to utilise their own performances!
If anything this music reminds me more of a Doom/Drone Metal album then it does a hip hop one with those deep chords, sadistic bass, methodically creepy keys and some devastating drums!
Listening to this I felt the hair on my arms stand up, I felt a sense of unease and tension that wasn’t use to feeling from a rap album. I felt the pressure of the heaviness weighting on my body and honestly it felt fucking awesome! See I’m just as strong a metal head as I am a hip hop head so to hear an album that’s blended as strongly as this one is with the two is incredible to me and I wished more rap albums took the same path!
Trust me, whatever path you think this album will take your wrong. No one could have prepared me for what I was getting into and you won’t either. Click on the album link below and feel the presence of a record I guarantee you haven’t heard before! Shoutout to everyone involved in this one of a kind album!
