(EXCLUSIVE CHUBS INTERVIEW)

:So, it’s been a few months shy of a year since you dropped ‘Bruiser Brody 2’ why is now the time for -GRHYME?

I wanted to let people breathe with ‘Bruiser Brody 2’ and give it the time needed to sink in. I don’t like to rush art and ‘Grhyme’ is something I’ve been working towards on and off for past two years so considering that I decided there’s no better time then now to drop.

:What made you decide to dominate the feature scene in the first few months of 2026? Instead of dropping new music

Again, when it comes to my art, I don’t like to rush and I am my biggest critic.

I prefer to let it marinate in the pot and gain flavor before I release to the public, but when I’m a featured artist, I don’t have the same pressure on myself

Cause it’s not my body of work it’s just that one verse that I’m laying down. Also I look at it as a chance to keep my sword sharp amongst my peers!

Also I purposely waited to drop this year cause again I wanted give the fans time to appreciate the ‘Bruiser Brody 2’ album

This next album is nothing like the ‘Bruiser Brody’ projects! totally different feel and energy

:What kind of mindset are you for this new album and how will it be different then the last one you dropped?

This project accidentally ended up coming together, perfectly capturing my younger years. Specifically as a teenager in high school like I said I recorded this album over the span of two years on and off and didn’t realize that I kept the same subject matter across all the beats until it was time to piece together the album and I listened to all the songs as one body of work and realized I unknowingly created the concept for the album with each song organically and somehow came together like a perfect puzzle.

The only word I could think of to describe this album was Grhyme mixing the word ‘grime’ and ‘rhyme’ together! It felt like the perfect way to describe the energy of this album.

:Why choose FiveEight as your producer for this one? I notice there’s history of you working with a wide arrange of different producers on your albums with most of them producing the entire album. Is in important to stay versatile with who you work with and have them work on the entire project?

I prefer to create a sound with one producer. I feel the music comes out more cohesive when you work with just one. creatively through the whole process  the songs kind of just get better with each track because you tend to learn each other through the process of creation and become familiar with one another to really create that sound together

As far as Fever, I knew the minute I heard his beats that he was a producer Other producers should fear because he’s extremely versatile, but yet keeps his own character and sound with all his production and isn’t afraid to go outside the box and try new styles and vibes! He’s consistent throughout!

:What kind of message with this new album send to the audience?

This for the trench baby’s straight up! this for that era, my era. I try to give you visualization through my music of the era I’m referring too that real raw and rugged New York Burl talk. The era of three letter gangs, the era of pressed pills and parking lot meet ups.

:What made you choose these two singles out of all of them?

I just wanted to show people a preview of the versatility on this project.

With the first single ‘Burl Talk’ being more in line with the energy of the overall project and something you may be familiar with hearing me tied to in previous projects.  The second single ‘D.R.U.G.S’ was more of bouncy dop you can cruise too built around the hook and leaning more towards its vibes, then the lyrics!

To the audience of The Serpent Tongue, I was given the insight as far as the ‘concept’ goes and when I heard it, it blew my mind. It’s going to be based on ‘Felt’. If that doesn’t leave you with your jaw dropped then this ain’t the right platform for you!

This is why in my opinion he’s one of the GOATS of the modern era. I’ve never in my life heard anyone use ‘Felt’ as a concept and you can see based on the cover art for his two singles and the teaser album art he posted on IG that he’s going all the way with it and I couldn’t be more excited!
