The King of Profanity is back. This man makes music that deserves something stronger than an R+18 rating! Never been one to appear soft or, dare I say, ‘subtle’, he’s the one who’s sonically kicking down every door and line to be crossed, and with this new one, he’s on his

Man, let’s discuss the production first. The one thing I’ve realised about his style of beats is that it’s a one-of-a-kind experience that you don’t get anywhere else. He’s like a self-contained hip-hop bomb that you’ll feel the full force of after time passes without listening to him; his music hits you like a whirlwind of loose shrapnel, debris, and random objects flying around! It’s a disorienting feeling that becomes addictive because he’s so intense till the last second is over.
Even when he’s trying to be soulful (like on -FUCK YA LIFE), he still raps his brutal, deep tone bars on top of it with those non-subtle adlibs that do the same effect as a WSG listening experience! You could hear the more angelic beats you’ve ever heard but doubled down with gritty explosions!
On this album, we hear what could be his most consistent, crisp, and crucial instrumentals we’ve heard from him yet! This one feels mainstream (in the sense that it feels big, bold, and professional) in the executions.
This feels like a hip-hop album you’d hear in the late 90s East Coast era back when being hardcore and the most abrasive possible was the mission statement, and this album delivers on that front maybe more than a lot of records that even came out in the day!
And actually, kind of runs the same course. A lot of those albums had the same familiar features to indulge the album as Nam’s does with the same brothers lending their hand at maintaining the energy!
Although very tough, gun to my head if I had to choose a favourite track it would have to be -GOD’S FAVOURITE that intro track went fucking ballistic! Talk about the perfect way to start the record! It’s tough, rough and that chorus? ‘If a N don’t grind then a N don’t eat!’ That’s my mentality to a tee so I was fucking with that part as well! And John’s feature verse topped it all off!
As far as the MC work goes I’d describe this album like I would the rest ‘if it’s not broken don’t fix it’ because a lot of his albums which highlight the same names might sound repetitive to some but for me this type of music isn’t something you hear every day and so on the occasions I do listen to it, it’s definitely a vibe! One that can make you feel like you just consumed two energy drinks at the same time!
Nam himself feels a lot more ruthless than I remember him. His verses feel more powerful and precise, his wordplay and penmanship has improved with a lot of memorable brash one-liners that I fucked with heavily!
Of course the other members of the conglomerate who have had more than enough experience alongside Nam have perfected their feature parts to the point of absolute precision! They are an extension of Nam at this point and they do justice to the atmosphere, high quality in flow and energy!
Each person has their role and positions to play in the album, each has their own specific relationship with Nam and each has their own characteristics that make them unique and in turn create a more lively performance by everyone!
You’re listening to a handful of different MC’s and not just a clone of the same one. Nothing worse when that happens but thankfully it’s never happened here, it’s like when you listen to Wu Tang you can identify each member or Army Of The Pharaohs each has their own distinctive style and voice and the same can be said here!
Once again, make sure you check out this mammoth of an album. It’s got beats that will make you break your neck head bumping. Performances that will turn your local bank into a business opportunity’ and a vibe you won’t get anywhere else!
