First things first. I LOVE that artwork. Sometimes you get a cover that draws you in without even hearing the music first. This is one of those occasions, definitely a lot less perverse than the last singles cover he did! I can actually focus on the music this time! Let’s talk about it!

This is the brand new single by MC -God Gotti and Producer -Blak Jeanyus and this is the near 3 minute track that I always hope for when it comes to Gotti! (Let me explain)

When discussing the performance side of things we talk about the man on his wild, I’m the god type shit and that is when he’s at his most infectious! I love when he rocks his confidence like this!
I’ve heard him rap serious tracks, heartfelt ones, darker overtones, trap, experimental and everything in between! BUT when he’s not giving a fuck and going crazy on the mic, that’s when he’s sounds the best.

On this track we hear him utilising things like high energy adlibs with his signature smooth flow, brash wordplay and a selfish cadence that reminds the game that ‘he’s that guy for real’ with that hypnotic repeating of the sentence ‘now let that bitch bang’ and it adds to the atmosphere of the track! You combine his powerful voice with a conquering demeanour and eccentric cadence? That’s a recipe for a HOME RUN!

Speaking of Home Runs, how about that beat? It’s never clear what your gonna get listening to a God Gotti song what direction he’s gonna take it but thankfully he decided to indulge me on my favourite sub genre of hip-hop ‘Jazz Rap’ and this one is truly sensational!
This song consists of a repetitive Jazz instrumentation where those horns return over and over in that lush pattern that’s combined with those elegant and methodical key chords and rock and roll style drums!
There are also some extended horns towards the chorus part of the track that add even more beautiful texture to the song!

This is the kind of track that you could listen to for hours and never get sick of! The type of instrumental you play after work to help you relax from all the bullshit built up during the day!

Definitely one of the strongest tracks coming from God Gotti this year! If we could get a whole album with this style of sounds I’d be a happy man! Check it out now!
