Hell’s Kitchen

It doesn’t take this producer long to get back into it! After dropping one of the dopest albums of the last few months he’s back to tease us all once again. This time with an MC that has been making a lot of waves in the underground and for all the right reasons! Let’s talk about it!

This is the brand new single by Producer -Nicholas Craven and MC -Sha Hef and together they organise this two minutes and 30 seconds of straight action! As they say ‘If you can’t handle the heat, get the fuck out the kitchen’ and we’ll consider this duo Gordon Ramsay because they thrive in the flames!

Let’s start with the production aspect first because this might be one of Nicholas’s most immersive instrumentals to date! One of those beats that sucks you in and makes you lock in mentally!
The first thing that came to mind was ‘Middle Eastern Jazz’ because those lively Jazz horns possess a hypnotic effect that reminds me of that rich Arabic culture that is so mesmerising and powerful in nature! Craven definitely utilised the influence well!

On top of that we also have those plucked strings, subtle drum beats as well as this occasional use of a this tribal like vocal snippet that emerges every 10 seconds to add even more depth to the track!
Everything about this track is surreal, engaging and infectious to the point you could listen to it for hours!

Now onto the other side of the coin we have -Sha who took the challenge head-on to create verses strong enough to compete with this stunning instrumental and he blew it out the water! Firstly he’s incredibly fluent and smooth with how he spits! He never skips a beat, his words land perfectly in place as he mixes his brash & monotone voice with a vivid sense of street talk filled with clever puns, affirming statements of who he is and what he’s about as well as a sharp showcase of charisma that leads you to follow every word and sentence he puts down!

I love how towards the choruses he speeds up his pacing to create this hypnotic effect of expression. Reminds me a bit of a ‘Boldy James’ execution and then for the two verses going back to a more methodical and cerebral sense of performing! He has each part of this song laid out for maximum effect and his penmanship is detailed and well composed!

This is such an exciting teaser of thing to come! They say the right single can make or break a hype campaign and this one proves this album is bound to be groundbreaking! Check it out!
