WHAT IF

It’s been a solid minute since I last covered this duo. They impressed me with their unique sound the first time around and I’m curious to see what they bring to the table now! So let’s talk about it!

This is the brand new single by MC -Cold Medina & Producer -Spontola as they return with some of the freshest few minutes you’ll hear all year! And let me explain why.
So first of all, the beat itself is so intriguing because it has this heavy Synth & Electronic energy that I found really interesting. It has a faint -G-Funk influence to it but with a bit more of a futuristic atmosphere to it!
You’ve got those looping high pitched synth chords that share the song with those deep bass strings and surreal drum beats that come together to create this CyberPunk style score that is unlike anything else I’ve heard all year!

It’s one of those beats that makes you think and your brain wonder. I know when I hear an instrumental that’s out of the ordinary I tend to get creative thoughts that I otherwise wouldn’t! Kind of acting like a conduit of sorts for adventurous and enlightenment scenarios and situations in my mind and that’s exactly what I got listening to this one!

discussing the lyricism part we come back to an idea and concept that has been shared before by a variety of different artists but since each person is different your bound to get a different rendition each time and that is the ‘What If’ scenario. On this track Cold is asking that simple question and expanding it into a batch of different ideas, thought provoking questions and inner pondering on how life might have been different had things gone the route untaken!
Across this track Cold mixed his lyricism and wordplay with a split between brash/confident bars and his introspective approach with that main title being ‘WHAT IF’

Strong vocabulary, smooth flows, intricate bar placement with excellent pronunciation of his sentences to create a clear & crisp experience that is direct, thoughtful, vivid and raw all in one! A fantastic showing by Cold!

If this is the sign of things to come then you can bet your ass I’m excited for the upcoming album. These two are a Hip-Hop match made in heaven and definitely not ones to sleep on!
