I have just finished work after a long day working solo this kind of vibe is exactly what I needed to relax. These two always provide that dream wave that puts your mind at ease! So let’s talk about it!

This is the 2021 EP by MC -MiyagiSun X GhostXMachine with -Siamese Jeans and -Lex Swank as the sole features on the EP

As someone who has spent many years lucidly daydreaming with various forms of music, experiences to try reach enlightenment and I can safely say this duo is one of my new favourites in that space. Whenever I’m trying to achieve a blissful state it’s music like this that helps pull my stress away and let my mind wonder.

And how could it not? With tracks like the opener -DIVINE RHYME CHAMBER which starts off with those surreal strings in that fantastical tune with that spoken snippet that makes for a dystopian tale of epic proportions!
As the song evolves we get those synth style whimsy chords that feel like mini DMT fairies flying around the track leaving sonic residue across the instrumental!

The track -Do It Look Like I’m Left Off Bad and Boujie? Has this stripper back classical Jazz feel that I adored. From those minimal yet eccentric Jazz horns going off in that sporadic motions that is accompanied by some skeletal drum patterns and this ocean wave rhythm of keys that cause a beautiful ripple effect that blends everything into the track!

If I have to be frank. The song -Do You Mind was hard to stay awake for. This EP was already putting me in a state of divine peace but this one was the straw that broke the camel’s back. From those dreamy piano keys, chaotic chords and thumping 808 style drum beats all this together is the recipe for a lucid dream that is hard to wake up from!

It really is an understated phenomenon when an MC such as -MigyaiSun can sync so well with this kind of production. To be one with the production in where his vocals don’t merely feel like verses but more an added layer of instrumentation to the music itself.
That might sound like an underplay on his part but it’s really not. Not many artists can blend and morph their performances and styles to this degree with sounding either forceful, awkward or clunky. I’ve seen plenty of attempts at ‘ethereal’ fall on it’s face because they just don’t have the capacity to fuse their characteristics with the production while Miyagi is a master at it!

Across these 17 minutes we hear Miyagi back on his prime level aura. Slick and smooth flow, introspective lyricism with a hint of poetry on the end of his penmanship. There have been other projects where he’s ventured into more brash or self confident territories lyrically but on this one it feels trademark back to basics and in the best ways possible!
He’s damn near translucent in his vocals. In my brain it’s impossible to seperate the raps and the production as they both move on the same wavelength and frequency! It’s an experience that has to be felt to be believed!
