Sometimes all you need to rock with a certain artist, album or track is ‘The Vibe’ it determines how you feel, how you think and how you stand with the medium. On this one we are taking a Time Machine back to the old school to revisit the styles and techniques that brought our beloved genre into the spotlight! Let’s talk about it!

This is the brand new single by duo E&J (MC -Eleven and Producer -Jason D) and on this song they bring a full flavoured 2 minutes and 46 seconds to the forefront and helps remind the audience about sounds and trademark rhythms might be at threat of being forgotten!

When we discuss the MC side of things we hear a man who feels like a late 1980’s/early 1990’s staple brought back into the modern era! I’m talking that classic
-Tribe Called Quest
-Run-DMC
-Public Enemy type shit and he does it flawlessly! This is a brand of performance that you don’t hear much these days as the art is ever evolving and changing but it’s a breath of fresh air to hear it done by obvious students of the game!

Across this track we hear premium fluent flows, a sharp vocabulary with colorful expression just as strong as we heard from our idols growing up! He has this natural/organic charisma that bleeds into the track and makes you not want to put the song down until it’s over!
This level of energy is rare and it’s infectious because it can’t be contained so it acts as sonic adrenaline to the audience listening! Absolutely incredible!

On the producer side we have an equally passionate performance by Jason! We have a combination of delicate looped keys, some sharp synth chords that re appear every 8 seconds or so!
There’s also some thick bass strings and raw drum beats that adds some much needed weight and texture to the song!
One other aspect I loved was the cuts and scratches! That’s yet another homage paid to the old school and done with exquisite taste!

This is one of those beats you could listen to for hours and never get sick of! It has a strong classic atmosphere and influence that takes you back to being a teenager and discovering the legends for the first time, walking through the vinyl and cd stores to hear the tracks being played on the speakers, it’s with this strong sense of masterful aesthetic that we get this incredible track with a ton of replay value!

Have you heard this yet? More importantly have you experienced ‘The Vibe’ and if not why wait! Listen now!
