Damn, this time around he’s decided to grace us with a swift 7 minute project? I guess he understands he doesn’t need an hour to convince you he’s the man! In fact he needs less than 10! Let’s talk about it.

This is the brand new EP by MC/Producer Sabio Dub with a total of 4 tracks such as
-120 Yard Dash
-Heating Up
-Nothing That I Can Do
-Tutti Frutti

And across these tracks we hear Sabio back on his most smooth and clean production! Let’s talk about it!

In the first track we have this beautiful Soul meets Synth Pop vibe with those double layered vocal loops! One being an actual line sung the other a repeat of ‘Oooo’ melodies for extra amplitude! This one contains some methodically charged drums that have this echoing nature to them as well as some lush plucked strings and some delicate piano keys!

In the second track -we have one of the most gorgeous use of vocal melodies in the whole EP! That opening which has this beautiful mix of chipmunk meets lo fi vocal style that kind of reminded me of a chorus you’d hear in the 2010’s! That is followed by this wavy as fuck instrumental that features these elongated strings with those trademark drum beats that make this one of the more stripped back cuts but infectious as hell regardless!

On the third track we have another minimalistic track with these vocal loops that lowkey reminded me of Michael Jackson but pitched up for effect! This one has some beautifully glistening keys, stripped back drums and what sounds like some light Jazz horns in the background as well! This track proves you don’t need a whole lot to create a strong and memorable atmosphere!

For the final track we have an appropriately named track that is as sweet as the title describes. This song feels like a 1990’s pop song! You’ve got those cheerful and uplifting chords and keys in a harmonious rhythm as well as this opening vocal sequence that makes me think of a band like ‘98 Degrees’
Definitely wasn’t expecting this to be the final track and it’s one of the most colourful I’ve heard from him yet!

On the MC Side of things Sabio is back on his full groove, relaxing wave! Back to show everyone who either hasn’t been rocking with him yet or his most loyal supporters the gig that brought him to the dance and this is (in my opinion) where he shines best!
From aesthetically pleasing flows, to a dynamic range of lyricism to a groovy sense of bar placement across these 7 minutes he doesn’t leave a single stone unturned and creates what I’d like to call an audio cornetto! Not a single boring piece!

Not to mention he’s flexing this style with no features! I fucking love when he does that (regardless of the length) he wants to remind the world that he’s that guy and over these luscious beats his vocals are king and you couldn’t ask for a better MC to rock these kind of vibes becuase his vocals and tones naturally sync with those vibes which enhance the EP overall!

So, don’t sleep, don’t fret it’s only 7 minutes long so there’s really no excuses not to fuck with it! Sabio on his prime shit!
