How many of your artists come with a DVD purchase! Well Big V did. A 30 minute insight into the process, mindset of the record with some of his own personal thoughts and ideas! So with that in mind let’s reveal this special offering!
This is the brand new album by MC -Big V that features production from both
-Big V & JazzyLionMan
Across this 6 track tape we see Big V utilise and enhance the ever so smooth and iconic production of JazzyLionMan blended in with his own unique sound signatures to create this mash up of atmospheric that I would say creates an introspective outlook. Based on the lyricism of V and the various instrumentals this feels more like a personal therapy session for hip hop heads then anything else!
Even on the lyrical front, how he’s talking about everyone getting ‘Farther’ or on the other tracks where he discusses his new fond confidence which comes from aspect such as going to therapy, going on tour 100% independently! Meeting up with mad connects like -JazzyLion and everything that comes with grinding in this game!
He also speaks (in the video) about how he wants to grow old and actually utilise longevity! Further explaining the concept of the -Introspective therapy session vibes that this album gives off!
He’s in a new chapter in life. He’s working on himself, got his website up, relying on the fan base to actually put their money where their support is and cop a record! A fresh new mentality for his journey in this hip hop shit and it definitely shows across this album!
The production itself speaks to a higher plane of his existence. It’s evident in the video interview shared between Jazzy and V that Jazzy saw something in V that he just couldn’t deny and that recognition and respect bleeds into this album! With cuts coming directly from Jazzy such as -Shaq Vs Barkley and how V himself heard himself on that track! That chaotic atmosphere with those sci fi style swaying chords, shimmering keys, methodically paced drum patterns with those high pluck strings!
Or tracks such as -Chopsticks where we hear Big V rap on a more traditional hip hop beat consisting of those groovy bass strings and rhythmic piano chords with those lively free lance drum beats! This is one of those stripped back cuts where it demonstrates V’s pure lyricism in a more in your face method!
I feel it was only fitting the album ends with -Potholes to signal the potential trials and tribulations left in his life, the same ones that built and sharpened his existing resolve and conviction in life!
In soulful fashion we have that gorgeous vocal loop that is accompanied by some fruity key progressions with that minimal drum work. This feels like the perfect bare send off from a record that revolves around life, introspection, humility abd honesty.
Look man. This album is $11 USD all up at the check out. ($6 plus the fees) and if you aren’t willing to spend at least that can you really call yourself a fan? I feel he’s earnt at least that from us and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. I’ll end with this, I ain’t Asian! You lying if you say you DON’T USE forks with your Chinese! We all do!
