Shots Still Firing

Man, I gotta tell you. It feels like Rulerz Inc are on some next level, Shaolin Soccer superpower steroid shit! I mean I’ve been covering the music since last year, really started diving deep this year and it seems in the last couple of months their music went from ‘Great’ to ‘Extraordinary’ in a mere collection of weeks! With this new single under their belt we are seeing a new era form and one that I can guarantee will be impossible to resist! This is the brand new single by MC -Mars Hall and Producer -Bigg Classic and man this one is 2 minutes and 44 seconds of absolute chaos in the best way possible. First of all, that Mortal Kombat intro? Badass. It leads nicely into what soon translates to a heavy southern vibe gutter instrumental that feels like Godzilla’s footsteps! Truly powerful atmospheric with this beat. You’ve got those deep horns that loop around the track combined with that surreal drum pattern, thick bass, various adlibs and synth sounds in the background that adds an extra layer of texture to the song! This beat feels ripped straight from an old Juvenile or UGK tape! It’s relentless, it’s hard hitting, it feels like I got injected with enough caffeine and adrenaline to headbutt a rhinoceros! They taking it back to the REAL OLD SCHOOL with this one and it’s this kind of dope revamp shit that this camp is coming with that makes me go wild! On the MC side of things we have Mars! This man brought the heat and then some to the track. He embraces the same culture, influences and values from that late 90’s to very early 2000’s feel with his tone, his brash approach to the spitting! The way he adds a certain twang to the ends of his sentences a certain thuggish mannerisms! He’s out for blood on this one, cerebral flow and sharp tongue to match. If the beat is Godzilla’s footsteps then he’s Mecha Godzilla coming to square up toe to toe and dominate anyone in his path! I also love how the producer himself gets a shot on the mic! He’s like ‘I made this fucking dope beat, you best believe I’m gonna rap on this!’ And not only does he but he nails the verse! Big shoutout to him! I loved the energy he brought to the song! It’s not even 3 minutes yet it highlights the best of what hip hop has to offer today while paying homage to the ones that came before us! So if you ain’t on this one, I hope those shots hit you AND you get stomped out by Godzilla!
