It’s been a minute and a half since I last covered this man! Someone I discovered last year with a gospel inspired track which has lead to a strong friendship and a discovery of a mind that feels restless on the best of days. With that in mind, it’s time to see what he’s cooking this time around! Let’s go! This is the brand new single by MC -God Gotti and Producer -The Malevolet Stirner as they come together for this just shy of three minutes that has a hypnotic feel to it that helped me listen to this track over and over again due to it’s looping nature. For example we can talk the production first! This instrumental has what I can only describe as a Spanish/Jazz flavour to it! Those tweaking chords and rhythmic drum work makes me feel like I’m at some festive Latino street performance that just happens to have these looped horns that come back every 3 or so seconds that infuse with the rest of the production layers to create this droning harmony that made me want to get off my feet and slide to this shit! As far as the MC work goes, we hear God Gotti back on his supreme throne shit! Rapping about down to earth topics and brags that focuses more on the everyday ‘working man’ then it does the millionaire yes man rapper! For example and probably my favourite line on the song he goes ‘my bills paid, that’s a whole different kinda boast’ because EXACTLY! That’s a real flex in the game. None of this iced out jewellery, expensive cars! We’ve heard that all before! I want to hear about a man admiring he had to take some time off, how he’s letting his last work and features do the talking about paying those bills! This is the lyrical themes I’m interested in these days and God is doing that! Strong flows, consistent, in depth, vivid with a confidence and charisma that screams ‘I’m confident with my shit, are you?’ And in my opinion there’s nothing more dangerous than a man with complete self insurance!
