THE LIONS IN!

Looks like we are back on this wave! These two men have made some incredible music both in their own respective lanes and together and this new one might be their best one yet. But let me explain why! Let’s go!

This is the brand new collaborative project between MC -Agent Sin and Producer -Jazzy Lion Man with the sole feature of
-Godie Lamral

And it very well could just be recency bias but I feel each new project brings out a stronger performance out of Agent! He’s a man who has captivated me with his surreal takes on rapping. He’s always able to make verses feel larger than life by the way he raps, how he incorporates his vocals into the beats syncing with them wholeheartedly and putting real life passion, conviction and relentless energy into his work!

I guess I’d equate it to performances in film and tv, some actors and actresses stand out from the rest for a reason! Because of how they present themselves and in that same respect I feel Agent is always at an Oscar-worthy position when he’s spitting.
He’s always incredibly fluent, landing exactly where he should be for maximum impact. His enunciation is spot on and when working with the right person his chemistry is flawless!

Also his versatility is insane. He can pop off on tracks such as the opener which consists of this mainly looped track. Or on tracks like the second one in with a more haunting execution and lay it off just the same!
Whether it be on songs like track 3 where he showcases how to pull off a boom Bap heavy influence! He can do any style and make it work solid!

When we discuss the production side of things we talk Jazzy who brings his trademark gritty, minimal and powerful instrumentals to the forefront! It’s crazy how many projects I’ve covered of his so far and my list only gets stronger!

We can discuss tracks like -TRICKY where we hear this stripped back beat consisting of those echoing & plucked strings that have a hint of twang attached to them! Pair that with some methodically charged drum work and thick bass! There’s also some light keys deep in the background for extra texture!
This is the song where the one feature -Godie goes off on!

I actually loved the intro track -LORD ø7W as it has this truly captivating classical vocal loop with that 5 second snippet repeated across the entire track!
This is combined with some sweet mesmerising hypnotic drum patterns with some subtle bass strings! This whole track is raw, cerebral and minimal in the best way possible!

There’s even the track -TAG 3M which drew my attention from those guitar strings that loop around the track. Those guitar elements activate a unique sound that the other tracks don’t have! Mix that with some low-toned drums and this interesting chord progression that sounds like a gust of wind on its way to hitting you but never actually landing.

Their last album was solid but this one might be even better! It’s heavy, intense and powerful. It highlights the best qualities of both men involved with a solid feature to match! Definitely not the album to sleep on!
