Now this is a collaboration to get excited for. This is an MC that has taken the underground by storm! Combined with a producer who has made some of your favourite albums in the past few years and now they share one studio, one vision, one dream that is sure to force your attention! Let’s talk about it! This is the brand new album by MC -Lethal Ferguson and Producer -Blaq Medici and together they drop this 8 track, 18 minute experience with the subtle hints of -CRIMEAPPLE -Big Twins and with just these two names they help bring the appropriate balance to this lavish soundscape and it’s fluent as hell! If we start with the production we walk into this part adventurous and part atmospheric vibe that makes you feel like you’re listening to a dramatic action film that utilises both elements perfectly. Hell, if we discuss that intro track -Matar Con Bombas it starts off on the more ‘thrilling’ side of the coin with those western inspired guitar strings combined with those luscious piano keys and rhythmic drum work! This score reminds me of the movie ‘Once Upon A Time In Mexico’ it has this dangerous and deadly feel to the song! But on the other side of the coin we have tracks like -Placas Robadas that flips the script and gives us this pure elegant and angelic environment consistent with these beautiful flute loops, gorgeous acoustic guitar strings and some minimal drum work that adds some nice texture! There’s also some light bass and chords in the background that make this one feel heavenly as hell (pun intended) This is also the verse by Big Twins! Who nails the ft verse! What about the track -Politics Is Business this one provided a more funky and groovy atmosphere to the track! With an almost G-Funk feel to it. This one has a set of plucked chords that go off in that rhythm alongside those sharp synth keys, thick bass and some more drowned drums that help be the skeleton of the track! On top of all that we have this beautiful vocals that accompany the track to provide even more elevation to the track! As far as the MC side of things go, we have -Lethal who is a man who at all times has his foot on the gas and doesn’t let up till the final seconds. Not in an extreme or wild behaviour sense but in a more natural, in your face and direct manner that makes the listers understand from the opening track that he’s in charge and provides that main character energy! Across this mere 18 minutes we have him dropping those ‘Lethal’ lyrical shots across the instrumentals. Swift delivery, smooth yet powerful flows and a personalised/in-depth lyricism that you can feel while sitting at home in your room. The way he’s able to describe certain situations and the detail associated with them is incredible. He switches between vivid moments and scenes to his traditional brash and confident bars to remind the audience just who the fuck he is!
