This might end up being the longest review I end up doing. I’m going to cover both albums in one review which is going to be one of my most extraordinary pieces of work I’ve done yet! But considering the Producer in question, it’s well deserved! So enough stalling aside, LET’S TALK!

This is the massive drop of Iconic Producer -DeevoDaGenius as he embarks on what could be seen as his ‘magnum opus’ with two distinctive discs each with their own feel and personality! Let’s start with the first disc! This one features
-MARCO PLUS
-El Camino
-BlueHillBill
-Boldy James
-Rome Streetz
-BoriRock
-AROLD
-Kil The Artist
-FUNERAL Ant Bell
-TEGA
-FNM MOOK

And with each new album I’m always left surprised and impressed with the scratches and cuts by Deevo because not only is it so damn rich and crisp in it’s execution but it feels like he’s always drawing from something new each time. Whether it be from Mainstream Hip-Hop to Movie/Film snippets to interviews and news coverage he finds the most interesting things to sample and make the tracks that much stronger!

I feel in that respect he’s the new age Madlib! He has the same ability as Madlib to incorporate the world around him into his music and create gold and I love that about him. I also love how he includes throughout the album a collection of beat tracks with no features just to shine his supreme production prowess and it helps spread out the various features and make the rappers sink in alot more! It’s an almost each second song is an instrumental track and it’s a relaxing break from the vocals!
As far as the sounds go it’s a blend of modern day gritty boom Bap, mainstream and old school soul, jazz and funk! He literally incorporates all the decades of music culture into one record!

Whether we are talking the gritty and ridiculously distorted track -ZINGIN TARANTINO where we hear that truly haunting vocal harmony that is pitched to a ridiculously high degree that it sounds haunting! This is accompanied by some luscious piano keys with some thick and sharp synth chords that come together to create an eerie environment for the one and only BORIROCK to go off on on!

I love the intro track -RIBS, RICE & CHAMPAGNE as it starts off with what sounds like a cinema trademark sound that later evolves into this soulful harmony that is bouncy, optimistic and fun as hell!
Whether your talking those funky bass chords that force your body to move back and fourth! As well as those old school 80’s inspired scratches & cuts as well as those light melodic keys and scratching synth chords in the forefront of the song!
This song also has some minimal drum work as well as a handful of sporadic adlibs and sound samples from sirens to the classic Young Jeezy ‘HA-HA’ he literally adds everything onto this song

I absolutely ADORED that surreal atmosphere he created for the song -PIP’S this one feels more like a fever dream then a song. You’ve got those echoing strums that remind me a bit of intro to ‘Twin Peaks’ in it’s execution! You combine that with those light keys and captivating drum work it creates an instrumental that is a blend of 80’s Synth Pop influence and modern day boom Bap!
This is the perfect combination for a man like -BlueHill to go off on! He’s never one to fuck up a verse and he hasn’t started now!
Also an interesting choice to have a bunch of spoken word clips end the song instead of letting the song ride on the rhythm! Which feels like the name of the game on this album ‘endless chaos’

As far as the MC work goes, I mean just look at the list. As usual not only has Deevo hired the gold standard of MC’s BUT he’s also crafted the perfect environment for these men to go off on! He’s not just throwing random names onto random beats for the sake of it, he’s crafted soundscapes that would sound best with the respective artists and that’s why each track (with a feature) sounds as dope as it does!

Whether your talking that duo masterclass between powerhouse MC’s Rome Streetz and Boldy James showing why they are the most popular names in the industry right now matching each others flow to a tee!
Or BoriRock giving us a classic example of why he’s the WAVIEST in the industry with his infinite charisma and electric take on street rap!
Of course as I stated Bluehill adds to the hypnotic rhythm of his track with his lyrical gymnastics across the beat delivering one of the best verses I’ve heard of him this year!

Kil The Artist who is shining more and more standing on his own two takes home the gold again with an exquisite performance over that Soulful/Gospel style loop track as his work horse performance shines strong again!
I also love how he incorporated the spirit of Jay-Z in a bunch of his sayings and phrases! Paying homage to the GOAT!
Hell, the way the album ends with the ever-eccentric chemistry of TEGA & FNM HOOK who shine as brightly as the sun with their duel work over that beautiful soul work!

Again, Deevo isn’t just a producer he’s a curator of who goes where and how! He does that better that almost anyone else! He’s a name that is renowned for his quality control and this album proves that!

Now when discussing Disc 2! I love how this album starts with the end of the first album with the compliments given! Such a smart way to continue the record!
This one has such names as

-BoriRock
-4FIVE6NICE
-KIL THE ARTIST
-Been Official Lord
-BlueHillBill
-FNM Hook
-Boldy James
-Estee Nack
-El Camino
-The Hidden Character
-EastSide Sheesh
-TEGA
-Max B

The last album’s first feature was -MARCO PLUS and now it’s -Borirock! What a change in motion and yet you can’t expect a stronger tornado to take you off your feet then his chaotic spirit that forces the world to listen!
This one (in the lyrical field) feels more serious and locked in. Not to say the first tape wasn’t but this feels more mature if that makes sense? There’s a slight tonal shift in the verses as if the first tape was meant to focus on the ‘passion, celebration & vibes’ while this one feels like the ‘conviction, soul and competition’ of the culture!

I could just be tripping and making something out of nothing but that’s how it sounds to me! Especially when you hear that intense -4FIVE6 verse! He did an Oscar performance and it shook the balance of the album!
Same can be said when Kil The Artist returned over that witty instrumental! He doesn’t even take time to breathe! His verse might be my favourite on Disc II! Left me speechless mean mugging the track!
Even on the song -EZEL&POOKIE they gave BlueHill a more traditional Hip-Hop track to go off and he locked in more cerebral then I’ve heard him in a minute! He sounds more like his last album he dropped!
Not to mention the savage Been Official opening verse that cuts the top of the track off with that sharp lyricism! He’s always been one of the more underrated artists in the game right now and this verse acts as a reminder not to sleep on him!

And of course right after I praise the ridiculous track from Disc I involving Boldy James & Rome Streetz we get Boldy returning with none other than ESTEE NACK! What! Putting them on the same song is ridiculous!
That being said I felt like Boldy’s verse this time around was far more immersive and hypnotic then the first! From him repeating that one line ‘I know some n****s doing life for some ghost dope’ and having this ethereal tone and feel overall! But as soon as Estee comes in he overpowers the track with his classic ‘SPLASH’ energy that hits you right in the jaw for the 1,2,3.
Also once again just like the last tape we have this song ended with a minute or more of spoken snippets to further embrace that ‘endless chaos’ theory I spoke about on the first tape!

A refreshing new addition to this disc was none other than ??? Himself! And as usual he murders the track! All by himself with no further feature needed to make the track work! 23 Incredible soldiers running shit as per usual!

What I found the most surprising feature was the bonus track finale in ‘MAX B!’ The OG Wavy one and over Deevo beats he sounds slicker than ever!
From a combination of singing harmonies and dope & raw verses he lights up the instrumental with his unique take on ocean smooth flow with street smart lyricism! What a way to close it off! I also love how this is one track Deevo let’s breathe and ride off! Only fitting for a living legend!

Similar to the performances themselves we have a more matured and surreal experience in the production department. This side of the tape feels more developed and refined with a stronger emphasis’s on ambiance and structure! If this Disc is the cerebral thinker of the siblings, the first is the fun vibes, organic charisma party brother who is all about the good times! While this one is dedicated to the perfectionist ideals and values!

The track -ABUNDANCE speaks these truths into existence! This one feels like a classical orchestra turned Hip-Hop! From those scattering keys that have this frantic rhythm that I was hooked on! I love how just before the one minute mark we get this slight subtle period that builds up to that massive beat drop!
This one also has some ridiculous violin strings and thumping bass that creates a riveting instrumental for Bori to go off on!

What about the track -WILLIESBURGER which sounds like a muffled G-Funk variant! You’ve got those deep trumpet notes that sound like they are coming from the background and spewing into the forefront which is a crazy effect
This one also has some devastatingly heavy bass, whimsical keys in the background and this occasional vocal harmony loop with some 808 inspired beats in the middle of the track!
If I had to compare this song to any it would be ‘EAST’ by Earl Sweatshirt as it has that same whimsical effect!
Nonetheless it’s the track Kil The Artist goes HARDEST ON!

An instrumental track I loved was -WHATGOESUP/MUSTCOMEDOWN because it samples the Biggie classic ‘Sky’s The Limit’ but in reverse! You first hear the beat part and then the build-up part later which is an interesting twist! Until it later advances into this completely original Hip-Hop beat featuring the usual ton of samples and cuts as well as those lush strings, heavy handed bass what sounds like a super high pitch vocal loop and mesmerising drum set!
I love how the later the song goes, the more we hear those guitar strings used for extra sonic texture!

Look. This is a double album unlike any I’ve heard from Deevo before. It’s split down the middle in two different styles, the features are masterful and the production is flawless. I’ll repeat what I said at the start, Deevo is the new generations ‘Madlib’ and I don’t see anyone telling me otherwise!
For Disc II it won’t be on streaming platforms! But for the physicals be on the look out at ‘Bars Over Bs’ and keep track on when they decide to drop because they will sell FAST! And for digital copies head to
